Topic-based channels with opt-in, invites, quiet hours and fine-grained permissions.
Channels are the heart of PushPig: topic-based channels that users subscribe to
deliberately. Instead of flooding everyone with everything, each person only gets what they chose.
Public or private
- Public channels are visible to every logged-in user and freely subscribable.
- Private channels don't appear in the list and are only reachable by invitation.
Inviting made easy
Generate single-use invite links (valid for 7 days) or invite directly by
username or email. The Android app also shows invitations as a QR code: scan,
join, done.
Quiet hours per recipient
Each subscriber sets their own do-not-disturb window per channel. Pushes falling
into that window are held back and delivered afterwards, evaluated in the user's time zone. Truly
urgent messages bypass quiet hours with "urgent": true.
Granular permissions
Channel owners grant write access selectively. Using API key scopes you can
restrict a key to a single channel and a single action, e.g. “may only send to
deploy-alerts”.

What is a channel in PushPig?
A channel is a topic-based feed that recipients subscribe to individually, for example ops, deploys or team. You send to the channel and every subscriber gets the message on all of their devices, so nobody receives alerts that don't concern them.
What is the difference between public and private channels?
Public channels are visible to every signed-in user and can be subscribed to freely. Private channels appear in no list and are reachable only through an invite. For club, team or ops channels, private is the right choice.
How do I invite someone to a private channel?
With a single-use invite link that stays valid for 7 days, or directly by username or email address. The Android app also shows invites as a QR code.
How many channels can I create?
Two channels with up to 25 subscribers each on the free plan. On Pro, channels and subscribers are unlimited.
Can I restrict who may send to a channel?
Yes. Channel owners grant write access individually, and API key scopes narrow a key down to exactly one channel and one action, for example send to deploy-alerts only.
What happens when a recipient is in their quiet hours?
The message is held back and delivered once the window ends, evaluated in the recipient's own time zone. Nothing is discarded. With "urgent": true a message bypasses quiet hours and goes out immediately.
